Prof. Dr. Iván Suazo
Vice Chancellor Graduate School and Research Universidad Autónoma de Chile
Graduated as Doctor of Science at Escola Paulista de Medicina at Universidade Federal de Sao Paulo, Brazil. He also has a Master degree in Neurosciences and Develepmental Biology at the Universidad Pablo de Olavide, Spain.
He has hold different positions at Chilean Universities, including academic directive and researcher. He has also been Visiting Professor at Universities in Brazil and Portugal. His research work has been delivered in several publications and he has given conferences in different countries in Latin America and Europe as well as Australia and China.
He is quite active on internet networks, from where he pushes for increasing research work in Chilean cities different from the capital Santiago; as well as gender equality and young scientists insertion at research. Since 2013 he has been holding the position of Vice Chancellor at the Graduate School and Research Universidad Autónoma de Chile. In 2017 he founded the Science Communication Center at the University, the first Chilean Institution doing scientific journalism and research.
