Call for publishing: How to improve education and cultural identity through literature?

Researchers, academics and students from all over the country can submit their proposals until April the 30th. The work will be published in the book "Literature and Education: Building identities".

Dr. Pilar Valenzuela-Rettig, in collaboration with the Chilean Society of Literary Studies (SOCHEL), launched the call "Literature and education", which aims to gather experiences on the role of literature in schools and its impact on strengthening cultural identity.
Those interested can send their proposals until April the 30th and should consist in educational research at fields like school or university education. It applies to any region of Chile.

Dr. Valenzuela, lecturer at the program Teaching in Chile at Universidad Autónoma, says the call includes seven types of work: "Identity and school literature" (at the pre-school, basic and middle level), "Identity and literature in higher education", "Interculturality and literature in educational space", "Literary theory in relation to identity, interculturality and education", "Comparative literature - English literature", "Didactics of literature" and "Experiences in the classroom".

Proposals must be sent to the contact emails pilar.valenzuela@uautonoma.cl and comunicacion.sochel@gmail.com. Texts must not exceed 25 pages of extension and written according to the MLA (Modern Language Association) style. The proposals revision and feedback sending will take place until June 29.

The Adviser Editorial Committee is headed by the Directors of the Chilean Society of Literary Studies Dr. Jorge Rosas (Universidad Católica de la Santísima Concepción), Dr. Eduardo Barraza (Universidad de Los Lagos), Dr. Eduardo Aguayo (Universidad Católica de la Santísima Concepción), Dr. Mónica Barrientos (Universidad Santiago de Chile) and Dr(c) Dámaso Rabanal (Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile).
